In 1994, a National Constitutional Convention was called upon to reform the National Constitution, a major event for Argentine institutional life. In this framework, the Governors of the provinces of Entre Ríos and Santa Fe requested the minting of commemorative legal tender coins.

This was an ideal opportunity to resume numismatic issues. The series commemorating the National Constitutional Convention was issued on November 21, 1994, and it included 6 coins:

All pieces were struck as proof and circulated coins. The former come in velvetex cases with different combinations of coins (a set with all 6 coins, a set with 2 coins -a gold one and a silver one-, and a set with 4 coins -2 silver coins and 2 nickel coins).
