the upper border is the inscription “REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA” (“Argentine Republic”)
and around the lower border, “1899 JORGE LUIS BORGES 1999.” |

The center depicts a maze, with a sundial in its center. On the upper border,
above the main design, is the numerical face value ―“1 PESO”― and in the exergue,
the year of minting ―“1999.” |
