OBVERSE DESIGN The center of the coin depicts Jorge Luis Borges’ left profile. Curving around the upper border is the inscription “REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA” (“Argentine Republic”) and around the lower border, “1899 JORGE LUIS BORGES 1999.”
REVERSE DESIGN The center depicts a maze, with a sundial in its center. On the upper border, above the main design, is the numerical face value ―“2 PESOS”― and in the exergue, the year of minting ―“1999.”
