OBVERSE DESIGN The center features the MERCOSUR logo in relief. Curving around the upper border is the inscription “REPÚBLICA ARGENTINA”(“Argentine Republic”) and around the lower border, the motto “DEMOCRACIA : PAZ : INTEGRACIÓN” (“democracy : peace : integration”).
REVERSE DESIGN The center features the number “1” on top of the word “PESO.” Curving around the silver ring is the motto “EN UNIÓN Y LIBERTAD” (“in union and freedom”) and in the exergue, the year of minting, “1998.”
