To ensure the implementation of the Bank’s monetary and financial policy; to make decisions affecting the money and foreign exchange markets; to introduce general policies on the economic regulatory framework and on financial system growth; to establish the denominations and features of bills and coins; to authorize the opening of new financial or foreign exchange institutions or to revoke their authorization to operate; to adopt regulations on Bank organization and management; to perform all the other duties assigned to it under BCRA Charter Sections 14 and 15.

To replace the First Deputy Governor in the event of temporary absence or when the latter is replacing the Governor (BCRA Charter, Section 13). She is a member of the Board of Directors.

 
Curriculum Vitae

A Certified Public Accountant from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) School of Economic Sciences, Ms. Ciganotto held the positions of director, vice president and president of Banco de la Nación Argentina. She chaired the Association of Argentine Public and Private Banks (ABAPPRA) She was the vice president of Nación Leasing S.A., director of Nación Factoring S.A. and vice president of Garantizar SGR.

She was a member of the House of Representatives in the Province of Santa Cruz, as the vice speaker of the House and the chair of the Finance and Budget Committee. She was the Finance Secretary of the Caleta Olivia City Council and an advisor to the Ministry of Economy of the Province of Santa Cruz. At the National Congress, she was an advisor to the House of Representatives Energy and Fuel Committee.

Ms. Ciganotto was also a full professor at the National University of Southern Patagonia. She held several academic and executive positions at the humanitarian organization Fundación Golfo San Jorge para Proyectos Humanitarios, based in Caleta Olivia.
